Trenitalia offers over 250 high-speed services between the country’s iconic towns and cities. Travel in comfort and style, at speeds of 300km/h between the likes of Rome and Milan or Naples to Venice. For a longer Italian adventure, travel the length of the country with Trenitalia between Turin and Lecce in 9 hrs 32 mins, with opportunities to stop at beauty spots like Rimini or Bari along the way. Or, explore two of Italy’s romantic greats, Venice and Verona, just over an hour apart on a Trenitalia high-speed train. Trenitalia even has a service to Sicily, with the train being shunted onto a ferry to take you across the Strait of Messina.

Trenitalia operates long-distance trains that include the Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca high-speed services, Intercity Day and Night routes and regional trains.

The latest and longest addition to Trenitalia's high-speed network, taking in an impressive 1387km, is a direct route between Turin in Piedmont and Reggio di Calabria in Calabria.

Thanks to these swift, elegant and comfortable Trenitalia services, you can discover the endless beauty of Italy in style, while getting a true taste of La Dolce Vita.

Practical information

Before you board

There is no check-in prior to boarding Trenitalia’s high-speed and regional trains. However, it is advisable to arrive at the train station at least 15 mins before your scheduled train’s departure time to allow sufficient time to locate the train’s platform. Please note that ticket control will occur once onboard.

Onboard

Trenitalia’s Frecciarossa and Frecciargento trains offer free wifi, accessed by connecting to the train’s onboard wifi network and registering your details.

Onboard Frecciarossa and Frecciargento trains, travellers can also access Trenitalia's free FRECCE Portal, an entertainment platform offering a wide choice of films, TV shows, music, newspapers, weekly and monthly magazines.

The FRECCE Portal also provides real time information and updates about your train journey, so you can get up to speed with the latest travel information while travelling at high-speed onboard your elegant Trenitalia train.

Trenitalia’s onboard catering service, FrecciaBistrò, is available on all Frecce trains. It provides food and drink options made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, including gluten-free, vegetarian and dairy-intolerant options.

Trenitalia also offers a complimentary welcome drink and snack to Business and Premium Class customers onboard Frecciarossa trains, and First Class customers onboard Frecciargento trains.

There is plenty of luggage space onboard Frecce, Intercity and regional trains.

Child and youth passengers

The definition of "Child" and "Youth" varies by country and operator. This is why we ask for the age of young passengers.

Sometimes children below a certain age can travel without a seat for free. If you want to guarantee a seat for child passengers, enter '6' as the age of the child.
